Gandhi Birthday Celebration

Young dancers in Indian dressYoung dancers brought us the sounds and sights of India.
Mohandas K. Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869. Since 1999, we have celebrated with a free, public, multicultural event.

The program includes musical and dance performances; prayers, speeches, and chanting from a cross-section of Utah's religious leaders; the ceremonial planting of a tree; and the main event, the presentation of the annual Gandhi Peace Award to an individual recognized for their contributions in the areas of nonviolence, human rights, and peaceful resolution of conflict.

Keep an eye on this website or like us on Facebook (facebook.com/gandhialliance) to learn about upcoming celebrations.
